The Craft Brewers Powwow is now BeerEx Africa and this year’s conference and expo is going to be epic. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • Keynote talks on Friday and Saturday from Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione
  • Expert presenters from seven different countries
  • Sensory workshop sponsored by Aroxa and SAB
  • Dual talks guaranteeing that there’s something for homebrewers, professional brewers and beer enthusiasts alike
  • Food and beer pairing dinner hosted by UK beer writer Melissa Cole (sponsored by Krones)
  • One-night-only performance from Mötley Brüe – a rock band made up of South African brewers (sponsored by Weyermann®)
  • A big old beery celebration as all the winners of the African beer Cup are announced

Enter the 2023 African Beer Cup

Entries to the 2023 African Beer Cup are now open. Register your beers online until 24 March. Beers must be delivered to our Cape Town depot by 6 April. Judging kicks off on 15 April, with the winners announced on 22 April at Woodstock Brewery. Get full details on the African Beer Cup

Want to become a qualified BJCP judge?

We will be holding a BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) judging exam on April 21 at 11am at the Hotel Verde. The cost to take the exam is R950 incl VAT. There are only 12 spots available – contact to secure your spot or to ask for further info.
